Overview of the Facilitator Talent Pool
In order to build a reserve of qualified talent, CMS maintains a pool of potential candidates who have demonstrated their qualification for facilitator roles through a screening and selection process.
Facilitator Talent Pool Process
The Talent Pool application process includes two rounds of screening – 1) online application including required documentation and 2) selection activities including a writing activity and interview. Applications to the Talent Pools are accepted several times each year. Please see below for the current process timeline.
Spring 2013 Timeline
Applications for the Facilitator Talent Pool will be accepted from Wednesday, April 24 through Monday, May 6. Only applications for elementary literacy facilitators are being reviewed at this time. For all other facilitator positions, please apply directly to the position posting.
You may only apply to the talent pool one time during each application window.

Facilitator Talent Pool - Application
Please fill out the entire CMS instructional application and attach the required documentation. All portions of your application must be complete to be considered.
Qualifications
· Three full years of successful classroom experience
· Licensure in Elementary Education K-6 or K-12 Reading
· Knowledge of successful elementary school instructional strategies
· Knowledge of differentiation strategies and the ability to differential instruction
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
· Knowledge and use of scientifically-based reading/writing research
· Knowledge and ability to diagnose student needs according to the CMS Comprehensive
Reading Model
Required Documentation
Candidates are encouraged to submit documentation that reflects their most recent experience and evidence of their potential as CMS facilitators.
1. Letter of interest
2. Résumé
3. Most recent summative end-of-year performance evaluation
o Preferred: 2012-13 summative evaluation
o Acceptable:
a. 2011-2012 or 2010-2011 summative evaluation
b. Letter from supervisor regarding performance if formal evaluation is not available
o Internal applicants may request CMS evaluation documents by contacting

4. Data summary that demonstrates impact on student and/or schools
o See the data summary guidelines for specific directions on your submission

5. Record of Professional Development. List of PD completed and/or developed in last three
years on literacy or instructional strategies.
6. Licensure documentation
o For internal candidates:
a. No documentation required
o For external candidates:
a. State license
b. Degree-conferred transcript of appropriate program if license is out-of-state
You will be prompted to attach all documents to the application once you choose the respective talent pool application from the jobs list. Each component must be attached as a single, separate file.
Invitations to participate in the selection process will be extended to applicants with complete applications that pass the screening process.
Facilitator Talent Pool - Selection
The selection process includes a writing exercise and interview. These activities may take place in person or remotely. More information will be provided to you once you reach this stage of the process.
