Principal and Assistant Principal Talent Pools   

In preparation for anticipated future vacancies, CMS maintains a pool of potential candidates who have demonstrated their qualification for principal and/or assistant principal roles through a rigorous talent pool selection process. When a new principal or assistant principal vacancy is confirmed, candidates in the Principal and Assistant Principal Talent Pools will be invited to apply. Current CMS principals and assistant principals are automatically considered candidates of their respective talent pool and are eligible for open positions.

Principal Talent Pool: Our commitment is to have a selection process that is transparent and respects the profession of CMS principal. We have designed our Principal Talent Pool process to provide applicants with the opportunity to demonstrate their qualifications as they relate to what is required on the job. Candidates are permitted to apply once between July 2016 and June 2017.

The 2016-2017 school year Principal Talent Pool selection windows are:

FALL

  • Applications submitted:  August 27-September 30, 2016
  • Application Review:  October 2-7, 2016
  • Virtual Interviews completed:  October 5-14, 2016
  • In-person Selection events:  October 20-November 17, 2016
  • Final notifications:  by November 22, 2016

WINTER

  • Applications submitted:  October 1, 2016-January 6, 2017
  • Application Review:  January 4-13, 2017
  • Virtual Interviews completed:  January 9-20, 2017
  • In-person Selection events:  February 6-24, 2017
  • Final notifications:  by February 28, 2017

SPRING

  • Applications submitted:  January 9-March 3, 2017
  • Application Review:  March 1-17, 2017
  • Virtual Interviews completed:  March 15-27, 2017
  • In-person Selection events:  April 3, 2017-April 21, 2017
  • Final notifications:  by April 24, 2017

SUMMER

  • Applications submitted:  March 6-April 17, 2017
  • Application Review:  April 12-April 28, 2017
  • Virtual Interviews completed:  April 24-May 1, 2017
  • In-Person Selection events:  May 9-26, 2017

Assistant Principal Talent Pool: Our commitment is to have a selection process that is transparent and respects the profession of CMS assistant principal. We have redesigned our Assistant Principal Talent Pool process to provide applicants with the opportunity to demonstrate their qualifications as they relate to what is required on the job. Candidates are permitted to apply once between July 2016 and June 2017.

The 2016-2017 school year Assistant Principal Talent Pool selection windows are:

FALL

  • Applications submitted:   August 29-November 4, 2016
  • Application Review:  November 7-16, 2016
  • Virtual interviews completed:  November 14-November 22, 2016
  • In-person selection events:   January 4-March 31, 2017
  • Final Notifications:   by April 1

WINTER

***Note: Candidates who will complete a school administration preparation programs by May 31, 2017 can apply during this application window.***

  • Applications submitted:  November 7, 2016-April 7, 2017
  • Application Review:  April 3-12, 2017
  • Virtual Interviews completed:  April 3-28, 2017
  • In-person Selection events:  May 2 –May 27, 2017
  • Final notifications:  by June 1, 2017

SPRING

  • Applications submitted:  April 3-June 30, 2017
  • Application review:  June 19-June 30, 2017
  • Virtual Interviews completed:  July 3-14, 2017
  • In-person selection events:  July 17-August 4, 2017

Success by Design Talent Pool (Opportunity Culture):  Our commitment is to have a selection process that is transparent and respects the profession of a CMS teacher-leader.  We revised our talent pool process and posted an informative presentation on our website (http://cmssuccessbydesign.weebly.com/how-to-apply.html) to provide more details about the application process. Candidates are permitted to apply once per SbD talent pool between November 2016 – June 2017.  Please note that the Success by Design (SbD) Talent Pool is separate from the Project LIFT Opportunity Culture Talent Pools.  Candidates may apply to both.

The selection windows for Success by Design Multi-Classroom Leaders, Master Reach Teachers, Senior Reach Teachers, and Reach Team Teachers are:

FOR 2017-2018 positions:

  • Applications submitted:  November 21, 2016 – June 30, 2017
  • Application Review: Monthly December, January, February, March; Every two-weeks April, May, June.
  • Final notifications: By the end of each month.
