On-Line Application

Thank you for your interest in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Based on the large number of applications received, CMS cannot follow up with each applicant by telephone or email. It normally takes 3-4 weeks to fill a position after the closing date. This may vary based on the position.

Effective Monday, January 7, CMS has a new on-line employment application. With the new application, you will create an applicant account with a Logon ID and password.  You will use this information to access your application after it has been submitted. 

NOTE:  If you have completed an on-line application in the past twelve (12) months, we have created an applicant account for you.  Your LOGIN ID is the last 5 digits of SSN and LAST NAME and password is last 4 digits of SSN.

Example:
LOGIN ID:  12345Smith
PASSWORD:  2345

The advantages of the new application are:

• Captures all applicant information 
• Allows updates at any time to apply for new vacancies 
• Provides status of positions applied for 

Vacancies will be updated as they occur and will continue to be advertised for seven (7) calendar days.  Please note that some vacancies will be identified for CMS employees only.  External applicants will not be considered for these positions.
