Medical and Dependent Flexible Spending Accounts
To help you save money on health care and dependent care costs, CMS is happy to offer our employees Flexible Spending Accounts through FlexCorp. The purpose of a Flexible Spending Account is to allow you to set money aside on a pre-tax basis to cover expenses that are not otherwise covered under a traditional medical, dental or vision plan.
There are two types of Flexible Spending Accounts available to you. A Health Care Reimbursement Plan and Dependent Care Reimbursement Plan.
Because these benefits are provided on a pre-tax basis, you may only enroll during annual enrollment, if you have a qualifying life status event, or within 30 days of hire. You enroll for flexible spending accounts in the cms.hrintouch.com portal.
