Do I really need a Will?
That’s a question that lots of people ask when discussing the topic of Wills, Trusts and estate planning. The answer is, not unless you care about what happens to the things you work so hard for, or you don’t care who would raise your children if you die while they are still minors.
Most people are surprised to learn what really happens to their property when they die intestate (without a Will). Contrary to what many people think, in the absence of a properly drafted and executed Will, everything does not automatically go to your spouse, and you have no assurance of who will raise your children.
But isn’t having a Will drafted expensive?
And besides, with today’s busy schedules, who has time to go to an attorney’s office?
