Zones

The district’s zone structure took effect on July 1, 2010. CMS restructured and reorganized its seven learning communities, first created in 2007-2008 school year to decentralize the district, into five zones in March 2010 as part of the 2010-2011 budget-reduction process. The district’s Title I department was also reorganized to provide supplemental support to the district’s Title I schools in alignment with the zones.

This change allows the district to effectively manage and deliver learning and instruction, and human and financial resources more strategically to schools. The newly restructured zones will continue to place resources and administration closer to parents and other members of the public, and, at the same time,  help to reduce overall district costs.
