CMS celebrates counselors as part of National School Counseling Week 2012. This year's theme is "School Counselors: Helping Students Be Brilliant."
National School Counseling Week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
Professional school counselors are certified/licensed educators with a minimum of a master’s degree in school counseling. Their degree of training makes them uniquely qualified to address all students’ academic, personal/social and career development needs by designing and implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances student success. School counselors are employed in elementary, middle/junior high and high schools and in district supervisory positions.
Be sure to thank your counselor colleagues for the efforts they provide in serving our students, teachers and schools.
Check out a segment in this video that discusses school counselors and their roles in increasing the CMS graduation rate.
