Turning Point Academy hosted rapper T.I. Nov. 27. The musician and reality television star spoke with students about bullying and staying motivated in pursuing their dreams.
T.I. shared stories with students about his struggles growing up. He also talked about how some of the decisions he made as a teenager affect his adult life.
Students thoroughly enjoyed listening to what the rapper had to say and were thankful for the opportunity to see to him, said Principal Valoria Burch.
“This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students,” Burch added. “My hope is that they will use the positive advice from T.I. to make a turning point in their lives.”
Power 98’s “Morning Maddhouse” also attended the event. No Limit Larry, DJ Yasmin Young, Church Boy and A Dot spoke about their anti-bullying campaign and encouraged students to sign their “Stand Up Speak Out” pledge.
The pledge encourages students not to participate in verbal, physical or cyber bullying. The school with the most pledges will win a pep rally hosted by the radio station.
