The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools class of 2012 will consist of approximately 8,168 seniors. The students will receive diplomas in 25 ceremonies, all taking place between May 22 and June 13. There has been an increase of about 400 more students than the 2010-2011graduating class. Myers Park continues to lead with the most graduates – 660. Cato Middle College High graduated its largest class with 98 students on Tuesday, May 22.
This year, will also mark William Amos Hough and Rocky River high schools' first commencement ceremonies. The schools opened in 2010. Hough held its graduation on Saturday, June 9, at the University of North Carolina Charlotte’s Dale F. Halton Arena with nearly 415 seniors.
Rocky River will hold its commencement today, June 11, at the Bojangles Coliseum with an estimated 365 graduates.
