Like many school districts around the country, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is deeply saddened over the tragedy that occurred Friday, Dec. 14, at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Many of our parents and teachers may need tips on how to help children cope with this national tragedy. The National Association of School Psychologists has provided a guide on how to deal with a national crisis. The Spanish version is available here. CMS counselors are also available to students and staff who may need support services during this time.
