Parental involvement is critical to a child’s education. That’s why CMS has provided a user-friendly Web application to help parents and families become more involved in education. Parents have been able to check their child’s homework assignments, attendance reports and grades from any computer, any time. Parent Assistant, through NC WISE, has been a computer-access program that helps parents track their children’s progress in school.
With the start of the school year 2013-14, CMS, along with the entire state of North Carolina, will have migrated to a new student management program called PowerSchool. Parents will be able to remain involved with their student's progress through the PowerSchool Module called Parent Portal. This module for parents will allow for easy access of grades and attendance as well as the school bulletin and other items.
