Amelia Stinson-Wesley
Amelia Stinson-Wesley, District 6
Rev. Amelia Stinson-Wesley was appointed to represent District 6 in January 2012 following the election of former representative Tim Morgan to an at-large seat.  She is an United Methodist minister who lives in Pineville.  Stinson-Wesley has extensive professional experience in working with victims of domestic violence and families in crisis.  She directs the nonprofit World Connections for Women, which she founded in 1999.  Previously, she has worked as a consultant to nonprofits in North Carolina, nongovernmental organizations overseas and congregations.  A native of High Point, N.C., she is a graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh and earned her master's of divinity degree from Duke University.  She has lived in Mecklenburg County since 2006.  She and her husband have two children who attend Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.  Her salary for serving on the Board of Education is $1,019.79 per month.
