 | Tom Tate, District 4 | Tate was elected to the Board of Education in 2005 and served as vice chairperson 2009 to 2011. Tate serves as pastor of Plaza Presbyterian Church, a position which brought him to Charlotte in 1988. He is a graduate of Princeton University and received his doctor of ministry degree from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia. He has served as co-chair of the CMS Interfaith Advisory Council. Tom has two daughters, both graduates of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Tate chairs the CMS Policy Committee and is a liaison to the Planning Coordinating Committee. His salary for serving on the Board is $1,050.38 per month.
