Main Points

​IHAM, "Comprehensive Health Education Program," is before the Board for First Reading of proposed amendments.  The amendments generally make small changes to terminology.  NCDPI has added an objective - the awareness of human sex trafficking -  to the NC Healthful Living Essential Standards.  Therefore, in Section II, A, 10, this topic has been added to the Reproductive Health and Safety Education curriculum.    

The policy was considered by the Policy Committee on February 9, 2017 and was unanimously approved .
