Baseball Tomorrow Fund is accepting grant requests. A grant has been submitted to support the development of a multipurpose, synthetic surface youth sports facility that will serve as the home field for the East Mecklenburg High School sports teams. The project is also in collaborative between the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
The project and CMS' obligation were originally approved by the Board of Education on March 14, 2017. If awarded to CMS, this $163,167.00 grant will be used for the total project cost of $1.82 million. The Board of Education committed no more than $400,000 from capital funds (no instructional funds will be used). Matching funds for the Baseball Tomorrow Fund grant will be met by other external funds that have been secured.
