Morgan was elected to the Board of Education in November 2009 to represent District 6. In November of 2011, he was elected to an at-large seat on the Board.  He was elected in November 2012 to the North Carolina School Boards Association Board of Directors.  He holds a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University and a master's degree in public administration from UNC-Chapel Hill. Morgan has lived in the Charlotte area since 1971 and is a graduate of Independence High School.  He has almost 20 years of experience in public affairs. A former vice chair of the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Commission, he also served on the Citizens Capital Budget Advisory Committee and the School Building Solutions Committee.  Morgan and his wife, Janet, have three children.  His salary for serving on the Board is $1,108.15 per month.
