During August of 2016, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools hosted 12 community engagement sessions to gain feedback on Phase I of the Student Assignment Review. Phase I is focused on how CMS can leverage school choice magnets and school options to achieve the student assignment goals set by the board. Approximately 1,200 community members participated in these sessions and close to 100 CMS staff and community members volunteered to facilitate them. During the community engagement sessions, we asked participants to write down questions and concerns on individual comment cards. We are in the process of compiling these comments and addressing them in a Q&A document which will be posted on this webpage later this month.
