Harding University High School

Harding students have received 97 scholarships (94 academic and 3 athletic) for a combined total of $2,534,307.  Thirteen students at Harding received scholarships of $50,000 or more.  These students are listed alphabetically below.

Myers Park Traditional Elementary School

  • Magnet Schools of America School of Distinction
  • National Association of Professional Development Schools Award for Exemplary Professional Development School Achievement  for the Queens University and Myers Park Traditional School Professional Development School partnership(Only 4 schools received this award nationally)
  • NC School of Distinction meeting High Growth 2009 
  • Chess team finished 4th in NC State Tournament and 15th in the National Tournament
  • Science Olympiad team finished 8th in Mecklenburg County competition

Myers Park High School

  • Newsweek Magazine ranks Myers Park High School 66th among America's top 100 high schools.  This is the highest ranking amoung CMS schools
  • The senior class of 2010 won over $9 million dollars in academic, athletic or merit scholarships
  • The National Merit Scholarship Corporation named 18 CMS graduates as 2010 national Merit Scholars.  Myers Park High School led CMS with 10 students receiving scholarships.
  • Project Lead The way (PLTW), the national certification board for the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, recognized Myers Park High School for it's outstanding pre-engineering programs

  • 2010 North Carolina State Scholastic Chess Championship - 4th Place
  • Science Olympiad - 3rd Place - Regional Level

2008-2009

Davidson IB Middle School

  • Magnet Schools of America School of Excellence
  • Future City team won state-level awards for Sim City and Best Presentation categories.  The team won Most Accessible City award at the national level.
  • Science Olympiad team took two second place medals and one fifth place event medal at the national competition.  The team placed 24th nationally out of over 1,000 teams.

Huntingtowne Farms Elementary School

  • Magnet Schools of America School of Excellence

Idlewild Elementary Learning Immersion and Talent Development

  • Odyssey of the Mind Team placed second in Regional and State compeititions; the team is participating in the World Competition at the end of May.
  • Seven state winners and eleven local winners in the Young Authors' Writing Competition
