Maps 101- Maps101 is a unique and comprehensive geography-centric online resource that makes the teaching of social studies interactive and engaging. Access to Maps 101 is available to all high school teachers and students for use in school and at home.
History Alive! - A program that centers on the five founding ideals from the Declaration of Independence: equality, rights, liberty, opportunity, and democracy. Each generation has struggled with these ideals. Some have made little progress toward achieving them. Others have made great progress. This program invites students to become engaged in this struggle, from establishing an American republic to the making of modern America. History Alive! materials are available in each high school as a teacher resource to supplement instruction.
GenerationNation (Formerly Kids Voting) - GenerationNation Charlotte is a non-partisan nonprofit (501c3) program educating K-12 students about citizenship, civic participation, government and the election process. Civics and Economics teachers receive lesson plans and materials to support the teaching of the election process.
Gilder Lehrman - The Gilder-Lehrman Institute of American History is a free web-based lesson plan and activities site to support meeting the NC Standard Course of Study objectives of Goal 1 for Civics and Economics and Goals 1-12 for US History courses.
