To increase the availability of evidence-based mental health services for the purpose of improving student’s emotional well-being and enhancing their ability to access and benefit from instruction.
The School-Based Mental Health (SBMH) Program is a collaborative effort between CMS, Mecklenburg county and private mental health agencies. The services we provide are in addition to the work already being done by CMS student services staff. It is appropriate to seek program services when the student has already received CMS student services support or displays significant need, and the need affects the student or the learning environment, or are likely to affect the child in school if unaddressed. Parents may request services through their child's school counselor.
