High School Extended Day Tutorial

  • Goal: Ensure students are on track to complete core subject credit requirements and graduate in four years.  Extended day tutorials will also provide recovery opportunity with instruction for students with excess absences.
    • Strategy: Provide extended day tutorial.
    • Strategy: Provide credit recovery opportunities.
    • Strategy: Provide attendance recovery opportunities.
    • Strategy: Provide extended day core academy for a grade.
  • Location: All High Schools
  • Time Frame:
    • No classes on days when students are not in school
    • Afterschool- Four days per week
    • Saturday Academy
  • Target Students:
    • Students who are failing a core class
    • Students who need additional time in instruction
    • Students who have scored at proficiency level I or II on previous EOG/EOC tests
    • Students with excessive absences needing to participate in the Recovery Instructional Program (Includes courses required for graduation and Fine Arts).

High School Extended Day Core Academy (For a Grade)

  • Goal: Reduce the number of students failing core courses and to provide additional opportunities for students to meet High School Graduation Requirements.
  • Location: High Schools
  • Time Frame:
    • No classes on days when students are not in school
  • Target Students:
    • Students who have failed first quarter/semester of a core class
    • Students must attend a minimum of 21 sessions to receive a grade.
    • Maximum of 15 students per class.

High School Saturday Core Academy

  • Goal: Reduce the number of students failing core courses and to provide additional academic support for students in order to meet High School Graduation Requirements.
  • Location: High Schools
  • Time Frame:
    • During the academic calendar
  • Target Students:
    • Students who have failed first quarter/semester of a core class
    • Students must attend minimum of 11 sessions to receive a grade.
    • 15 students per class.
