Charlotte-Mecklenburg Retired School Personnel
Scholarships

CMRSP is proud to offer  scholarships to graduating high school seniors and teacher assistants from Mecklenburg County, NC who are planning to enter the teaching profession. Application information is sent to all school guidance counselors and principals in January for distribution to students and assistants. Students and assistants are asked to provide our committee with a one-page handwritten essay outlining academic achievements, leadership, extra-curricular activities, and financial need. The CMRSP Scholarship Committee reviews all applications and makes the final selections. At least one of the scholarships is given to a relative of a CMRSP member or an active CMS employee. The recipients, their families, and principals are recognized at our May meeting. Funding for the scholarships is provided through memorials and honorariums.

For guidelines and applications click on Documents from side menu.

If you are interested in making a donation to the CMRSP Scholarship Fund, please send a check to CMRSP Scholarship Fund, Atten: Marilyn McClain, 6801 Silverwood Lane, Charlotte 28216. Your donation will be recognized with a memorial/honorarium card from our organization.
