
CALL FOR SCHOOL SUCCESS STORIES
This is a call for your school, department or organization to submit one or more environmental success stories or environmental how-to guides for publication in version 2.0 of the CMS Environmental Stewardship Guide. Topics may include: field trips, recycling, butterfly or vegetable gardens, energy conservation, environmental club, composting, litter programs, planting trees, guest speakers, awards or other environmental stewardship related topics applicable to students and or your school. The submittal process is simple: provide approximately 500-1000 words in news story or how-to style using Microsoft Word. Be sure to include photos or graphics if available and school sponsor if applicable. Submit your story, photos and or graphics to EM3@cms.k12.nc.us to be considered for publication in version 2.0 of the guide. Editing published submittals should be expected for style and layout purposes.
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP GUIDE VERSION 1.0
The CMS Environmental Stewardship Guide is published to provide the greater CMS community information and insights into the CMS environmental footprint, examples of methods used to improve the district’s environmental performance and to offer examples of the types of efforts you can make to foster improved stewardship action at school, work and home. You will find school success stories, environmental improvement how to articles and links to additional resources to learn more about today's environment.
Version 1.0 of the guide may be downloaded by clicking the link below. Version 1.0 is in web distribution resolution and no not intended for printing. CMS is seeking guide sponsorship from the community, the proceeds of which will assist funding the CMS Green Star school recognition program.
Please check back for version updates which may be periodically uploaded.

- Will you ask others to be good stewards?
- Once everyone accepts responsibility for our own interactions with the environment, we will be better prepared to sustain the environment of today for the generations of tomorrow
