CMS SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
CMS is in the process of conducting an evaluation of existing solid waste streams. The intent is to determine what categories of materials are being disposed of as waste. This will assist in determining the most efficient ways to maximize the district's ability to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Questions include:

Can some of these waste materials be recycled?

Can some of the waste be composted and how?

Can some of the waste be reduced by procuring products with less packaging?

Are there alternate uses for elements within the waste stream?

and more.
Reducing waste conserves natural resources, reduces the amount of space needed for landfills, and improves the environment.
