WATER CONSERVATION

Water Conservation efforts have become a priority for the Charlotte Mecklenburg region.  CMS has implemented water conservation measures leading to substaintial conservation of our collective water resources.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools – implemented several water reduction strategies including the "slow the flow" campaign for cafeteria workers, leak detection programs, retrofitting older buildings with low-flow devices and creating an in house approval process to make decisions on outdoor water uses.  Thes eefforts resulted in CMS being named as a Water Conservation Award Winner.
