The Environmental Health and Safety office is dedicated to a continuous environmental process and improvements that lead to sustainable operations, pollution prevention, resource conservation, regulatory compliance and indoor air quality conditions that are conducive to academic achievement.  We are committed to working with all CMS departments, area businesses, community groups and our neighbors to improve the district’s performance that benefit CMS in terms of reduced operational costs and that improves the pollution prevention process.

1.  How do I request support service from Environmental Services or Building Maintenance?

Contact the school front office who will request service on your behalf.  

2.  Is there a basic guide for teachers who are interested in improving air quality in classrooms?

There are a number of resources.  EHS can provide additional resources or on-site training.      

3.  How can I get information about asbestos at a school?

Every CMS school has an AHERA Asbestos Management Plan.  The Management Plan includes asbestos specific inspection information for schools.
