CMS Auxiliary Services Leaders Gain Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
On October 25th, two of the CMS Auxiliary Services teams were officially granted their Six Sigma Green Belt certifications by North Carolina State University. Six Sigma is a systematic, disciplined process for data-driven decision making that is defined by five phases – Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control -- each with clear, data-based objectives, actions & outputs. Green Belt certification required a two-week Six Sigma training course, examination and the successful completion of a project that delivered significant cost, productivity or waste reduction benefits for CMS. The Building Services Team selected the CMS Electrical Department Windshield Time Reduction Project which yielded $125,000 savings.
Special thanks to the Electrical Department for their continuous improvement efforts!
