Where is CMS today? A detailed review of the Strategic Plan 2010: Educating Students to Compete Locally, Nationally and Internationally and the district's progress provides clarity, context and candor for the goals we are setting in the 2014 plan.

The Strategic Plan 2010 set seven broad goals, all intended to move the district toward the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education’s directive to provide “the best education available anywhere.” The goals were:
