Parent University Helps Families Prepare for Upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences

October has been designated as Family Involvement Month across North Carolina. As a result, CMS schools have organized activities and events to engage families in their children’s education. One of the most powerful opportunities is parent-teacher conferences, which provide families and teachers with a chance to monitor student progress and success. October 29 has been designated as Parent-Teacher conference day in CMS; however, many schools will hold conferences throughout the month.
To stress the importance of parent-teacher conferences and to help families prepare, Parent University will conduct the workshop, “Can We Talk? – Effective Parent Teacher Conferences,” more than 15 times in schools, houses of worship, and community locations throughout Mecklenburg County The workshop provides families with questions they can ask during conferences and helps them prepare in advance for their one-on-one time with their child’s teacher.
