Board of Education hires superintendent search firm

At its Sept. 13 meeting, the Board of Education voted to retain PROACT Search to facilitate its search for the next CMS superintendent.

“We are delighted to hire PROACT Search to assist us in finding the next leader of our district,” said Eric C. Davis, Board of Education Chairperson.  “This organization has assisted some of the largest districts in the country in selecting outstanding leaders and I am confident in their work.”

PROACT will recruit, screen, interview, provide background checks and data on top candidates.  The PROACT process involves a regional and national search that will develop a diverse candidate pool.  The staff will also speak with educational and community leaders, school board members, and successfully employed executives and administrators to provide Board members with information on the most competent candidates for the position.

“We have been watching the growth and success in Charlotte, and are dedicated to making sure that Charlotte has the deepest pool of highly talented leaders to select from,” added PROACT Search CEO, Gary Solomon. “This is a crucial search, and we’re ready to serve this school board, district and community.”

To ensure that Board members have a broad outlook of each candidate, PROACT will present a 360-degree view of each candidate including resumes, letters of recommendation, screening notes, interview notes, interview rubrics, data-driven dashboards, candidate summaries and other pertinent information for the district to make their decision.
