Two personnel appointments were announced at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education meeting.
Sheena Miracle was named principal at Sedgefield Middle. Miracle has been principal at Cabarrus Charter Academy in Concord since 2018. She was with CMS as director of Advanced Studies from 2014 to 2018 and as a talent development teacher/Advanced Studies coordinator from 2012 to 2014. Miracle was a teacher at Bruns Academy from 2010 to 2012, Elizabeth Traditional Elementary from 2007 to 2012 and Trent Park Elementary in Craven County Schools from 2005 to 2007. She has bachelor's degrees in elementary education and psychology from Queens University of Charlotte and a Master of Special Education: Academically Gifted and Talented from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Laura French was named executive director of Employee Relations. French has been senior consultant, Human Resources, for Atrium Health since 2019. She was director of Employee Relations and Human Resources staff attorney for Union County Public Schools from 2013 to 2019 and general counsel for the Professional Educators of North Carolina in Raleigh from 2005 to 2013. French has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Appalachian State University and a Juris Doctor from Campbell University School of Law.
