Making history

Olympic High was one of 150 high schools that participated in the first service-branch enlistment ceremony conducted from space Feb. 26.

Five Olympic students – Nicolas Branch, Trinity Johnson, Kaylin Mounmanivong, Alexander Weaver and Gabriel White – were among more than 1,000 cadets who were sworn into the U.S. Army by Col. Andrew Morgan from the International Space Station. Olympic was selected from more than 20,000 high schools in the U.S. because of the number of Olympic students who enter the Army. The event was broadcast on NASA TV.
