Winter Extravaganza

The holidays arrived early at Renaissance West STEAM Academy, where the first Winter Extravaganza was held Dec. 20.

Victory Lodge 1725 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers has a partnership with the school and provided gifts for each of the 697 students. They received toys, school supplies, books, hats, gloves and snacks.

“It’s wonderful to see the smiles and joy this brings to our students and the adults,” said Principal Stacey Clark. “We’re in this journey together.”

Victory Lodge 1725 represents the transportation division of American Airlines, said Helena Thornton, the lodge’s community service chairperson.

“We’re here to support the community and the children,” Thornton said. “We want to make sure they’re taken care of – they’re the next generation.”
