Symptoms Screener
CMS families,
We understand that this is a challenging time for many in our community. As we navigate COVID-19 together, CMS remains committed to facilitating growth and new opportunities all the while ensuring access to quality education.
The safety, health and well-being of our students, staff, families and community is a top priority. The NC DHHS StrongSchoolsNC toolkit requires public schools to conduct a COVID-19 symptom screening of any person entering a school building. For this reason, we will be asking each student and visitor to complete the CMS Symptoms Screener survey each day before reporting to school.
The purpose of the CMS Symptoms Screener survey is to determine if you are currently experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 or have recently been exposed to COVID-19. All information provided is kept confidential. Based on your survey results, you will be approved to go to school or will be asked to stay at home. Students who are not feeling well should stay home and consult with a physician or health care provider.
Please complete the CMS Symptoms Screener survey to help ensure safety and health for all. This survey is available electronically and can be accessed in multiple languages. To see a step-by-step guide for completing the survey, please watch this video.
For those who cannot access electronic pre-screening or if pre-screening is not completed prior to arrival on-site, school staff will be able to assist students with screening via on-site electronic screening or a paper version of attestation.
Thank you for your cooperation and support. We are in this together, CMS family.

Remote Learning Daily Minutes
The documents below are guidelines for “Live” and “On Your Own” remote instruction. These are district expected designations for instructional minutes across content areas and grade levels.
There may be times when a teaching and learning session runs long or ends early, but it should not exceed or fall below 10 minutes of the indicated times unless there are extenuating circumstances communicated by your child’s school.
