  • The Board of Education holds regular monthly meetings, open to the public, on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 6:00pm.
  • Unless otherwise noted, the meeting location is:
    Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center
    600 East 4th St. Charlotte, NC 28202.
  • Closed session is held in Ch-14 in the Government Center at 5:00pm on the day of regualr Board meetings, unless otherwise stated.
  • Live broadcasts of regular board meetings air on CMS-TV Cable 3 and are video-streamed live.
  • Sign up to speak by calling Board Services, 980-343-5197 , by 12:00 p.m. the day of the meeting or at the dais 15 minutes prior to the call to order. 
    • Citizens have the opportunity to address the Board of Education at the first regular Board meeting of each month. Speakers will be given up to three minutes. Depending on the volume of speakers the time to speak maybe reduced. Documents from speakers will be placed in board member boxes and will not be distributed during the meeting.
  • Public Hearings provide citizens the opportunity to address the board regarding new policy or policy revision. Completion of meeting minutes is a multi-step process; minutes are not posted immediately following board meetings.  Please contact Clerk to the Board, 980-343-5163, with questions concerning minutes.
