Duties and Responsibilities of Co-curricular Sponsors

  • Determine whether your school will participate through classes or as an extracurricular club.
  • Recruit students.
  • Establish and secure a location for regular meetings.
  • Meet with parents to encourage their support.
  • Determine what resources are available to assist you with the club.
  • Determine how to publicize your club and its successes.
  • Contact the website or the program director to obtain information regarding this year's regional tournament and the availability of assistants.
  • Obtain information regarding the costs involved in the activity and the resources available.
  • Publish a schedule of club meetings, competitions and calendar of activities for the year.
  • Inform the CMS Public Information Office and the Co-curricular Office of your team's competition successes.
