Custodial Services Department oversees the custodial operations of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school district.  The department works with schools’ administrative staff, manages, trains and directs custodians in the most cost effective manner while providing high quality customer service.

In order to provide all schools with a clean, safe and healthy environment, the Custodial Department and its staff provide, but not limited to: Daily/weekly/monthly/annual cleaning task, specialty cleaning task, solid waste removal, recycling program, gym floor refinishing, etc.  In addition to the routine cleaning task, we also handle coverage for Community Use activities, clean up after athletic events, set up furniture for special events/PTA functions, etc. Quarterly Assurance Audits are performed in order to ensure cleaning standards are being met.

The department also works in parallel efforts with other work groups during construction, renovation and abatement as well as emergency situations such as; fire, water leaks, vandalism, inclement weather, to insure schools are ready for occupancy with little or no disruption. The department responds as needed on a 24/7 basis.
