The Community Partnerships and Family Engagement (CPFE) Department works to foster active collaboration between families, community partners, and CMS to support the social, emotional, and educational development of all students.

We believe

  • in the transformational power of family and community partnerships in helping students realize their highest potential.

  • families are an integral part of the decision-making process on the school and district level.

  • learning occurs in a culturally competent and caring environment supported by community partners and families.

  • creating meaningful learning opportunities and developing college and career ready graduates is a shared responsibility between families, communities, and schools.

  • successful and sustainable family and community partnerships are based on investing in the personal and learning outcomes of every student, shared accountability, two-way communication, mutual respect, and trust.

  • all families and community members who interact with CMS on any level should feel Welcomed, Valued, Respected, Empowered, Connected, Informed, Essential, Supported, Heard, and Safe.
