PowerSchool Parent Portal

Parental involvement is critical to a child's education. That's why CMS has provided a user-friendly web application to help parents and families become more involved in education. Parents can check their child's homework assignments, attendance reports, grades and other items from any computer, any time using PowerSchool.

Early Release Days

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will have four (4) early release days for traditional schools.  Students will be released three hours earlier than their schools' designated bell schedule ending time.  The early release days for the 2019-20 school year are as follows:
  • October 16
  • January 8
  • March 4
  • April 29
Early release days will allow our teachers time to participate in professional development workshops that will enhance their knowledge and skills.  CMS will provide brown-bag lunches for students. CMS buses will complete the end-of-day routes when students are dismissed for the day. For more information, contact your school directly.

If your student is already enrolled in an After School Enrichment Program (ASEP), there is no need to take any action. If your student is not enrolled in ASEP and you need assistance for these dates, please contact the ASEP site coordinator at your school or the ASEP department at 980-343-5567 two weeks prior to these dates to make necessary arrangements. This assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
