School is back in full swing and so are discussions of the 2014 legislative priorities for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The district will continue to work with the speaker’s office throughout the fall to target much-needed legislative work that will benefit our students, teachers, and schools.
The General Assembly will reconvene in the short session in mid-May of next year. As the session only lasts for several weeks, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education's list of 2014 legislative priorities is expected to be very targeted and brief.
